Sound Thought is an annual music and sonic arts festival run by University of Glasgow postgraduates and taking place at the Glasgow CCA between Wednesday the 30th March and Friday the 1st April.
Through a series of concerts, screenings, performances, discussions and workshops, the three-day festival will show how research and practice from a host of international contributors from a range of sound and music disciplines communicate across artistic fields.
Each day is completely free, with screenings, discussions and installations being shown through out the day, and a performance event each evening.
This years Sound Thought has been programmed in collaboration with GLEAM (Glasgow Electronic and Audiovisual Music) Festival, LUX Scotland, The Pipe Factory and GNME (Glasgow New Music Expedition).
Wednesday’s evening will show performances and screenings of works exploring the audiovisual relationships.
Thursday’s will explore a broad range of performances exploring sound studies across the arts.
Friday’s will be a concert of contemporary chamber works commissioned and performed by the GNME.
